Guest guest
Hello everyone! Well, my fist official week of training has been great! Last Saturday, we were all timed for a 3-mile run, and I was placed in my pace group. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I did my circuit training for a weekly total of 900 sit-ups, 75 push-ups (working on increasing that number), and about 3 hours of upper body work using free weights. On Tuesday and Thursday, I did my maintenance runs, logging 4 miles each day. This Saturday will be the first run with my pace group. While we'll only be completing 4 miles, we have to start somewhere. I'm just so excited and grateful that I can do this type of physical activity. Losing 153 lbs has given me physical freedom I never knew existed. It feels WONDERFUL! My generous sponsors have donated $475 so far, so I only need $1255 more sponsorship dollars to reach the minimum required to participate in the marathon. The SF National AIDS Marathon Training team has raised $67,260 so far. Our goal is to raise $1 million dollars to help keep the men, women and children who are dealing with HIV/AIDS alive until there is a cure. You can still help me to achieve this dream of running 26.2 miles in the San Francisco Marathon. But more importantly, the money we raise will allow the San Francisco AIDS Foundation to continue to provide vital AIDS services and support needle exchange programs throughout the Bay Area to help stop the spread of HIV/AIDS. Proceeds will also fund the Pangaea Fund, a new initiative to support vaccine preparedness and HIV treatment access in the developing world. Please consider sponsoring me at www.aidsmarathon.com. I'm participant (runner) 6010 in the San Francisco Marathon. Thanks to my generous sponsors: Lam*; Mona Wentling*; Valley Relocation and Storage**; Steve Blow; lba Pena*; Atlantis Black; Tamra Doughty; Gemma Nimedez Arbas*; Vizoso** *$50 - $99 **$100 or more Total sponsorship donations: $475 Total still needed: $1255 Francisco -153 lbs
