Guest guest
Hi Esther, I'm also in the SSF class, and I was approved in July. Orientation was on November 1st, and that is when they weigh you in. In December I met with Dr. Stiles and the Nutritionist, and I found out I was at my goal weight. This month I have my lifestyles 3 class and hopefully next month lifestyles 4. After that they said I can be scheduled for surgery. The process is a bit long, but worth the wait. That way you can be sure this is the right step for you. SassyEsther wrote: It is South San Francisco. So, this pre-op stuff was not really pre-op test...darn and my hopes we high that it would only be a few more weeks. So, will they go by the last weight I was when I went to the MD? or do they weigh me in the orientation class? thank you btw for responding so quickly.Esther> >> > Hello Everyone,> > > > Well, I was approved in Dec. 2005 for surgery and was told that in > a > > couple months I would get more appts. for orientation and to meet > the > > surgeon.> > > > Well, as luck would have it someone cancelled and they bumped me > up, I > > am to take the orientation class on Tuesday 1/17. > > > > Yesterday, 1/11, I got a paper stating upon receipt I am to go and > get > > pre-op blood work, EKG, and Chest X-ray. Guest guest
Hi Esther, Are you out of SSF? I am and this is what I have been through so far... I got my leter of approval on July 22nd, 2005. About 4 weeks later I was sent RX for a chest X-Ray and an EKG. I went ahead and did them right away because they will send these results to the Bariatric Department prior to the orientation. Then I waited for my appointment for orientation. It took almost 3 months. My orientation finallly took place on October 18th, 2005. This is where they go over a lot of information with you and you are given a binder. Also you are weighed in at that time and they take a picture of you. I weighed 257 lbs. Again I had to wait about 2 months nbefore I had my appointment with Dr. Stiles on December 19th, 2005. That is where she told me how much weight I had to lose. I was given the amount of 10 lbs. At the appointment she discussed medical history and whether I had a good supportive network. It was actually rather quick. She stated that I would be going to 2 lifestyle classes and have an appointment with the surgeon. Now I have been scheduled to go to the first Lifestyles 3 class on January 20th, and I have an appointment with Dr. Li on February 14th and I was told that I would be scheduled for my Lifestyles 4 class sometime in February. That is where I am at now, but I will keep you posted on status of each step. Maridiana Orientation 257 lbs. Currrrent Weight 247 lbs. >> It is South San Francisco.
