Guest guest
Hi, Everyone' So, last week I met my friend, , who has the neurosarcoidosis, at Allegheny Medical Center in Pittsburgh. I was hoping that, according to the websites, the doctor there had expertise in the area and would be able to shed some light on 's status and prognosis. Well, as so many of you state on a day-to-day basis, there aren't too many " experts " out there and so you can spend a lot of time spinning your wheels and frustrated. Except for ordering a few tests (a blood test, a chest x-ray, and a brain scan), this doctor had nothing to offer and seemed disinterested in the whole affair. What a shame to have to suffer and have no validation. I know I am preaching to the choir, but it was annoying all the same. So, we are on to another avenue. Hopefully there is some help to be had at UPenn Hospital. If anyone has any familiarity with that hospital and the neurology department would you please pass it on. We have the name of a Dr. Balcer at this time. I don't know anything about her, but the pulmonary surgeon who specializes in sarcoidosis recommended her. lives in PA and should really be seen by a doctor in PA for practical reasons. Any other advise or information would be helpful. I am becoming a rather well-read student in the field and can even site a few studies! I am proud of that, ha ha. Thanks one and all. Hope you are all having good days, or will be in the very near future. Sincerely, Joanne
