Guest guest
Tracie, I am on a medication that states I should stay out of the sun. How long do you need to be in the sun for the Vitamin D to be assimilated? I am taking RX vitamin D and I have doubled my level but it is still about 1/2 of what it needs to be. Any ideas? Guest guest
Terri, Even 10 minutes is long enough to get the assimilation going. You don't want to get yourself sunburned-- but a few short minutes-- even if you go out several times a day-- will really help. TracieStart the year off right. Guest guest
Tracie, Besides our physical health, it also helps with our mental health. It's just not good to isolate ourselves. Even if you just talk to one other person, besides the regular people you see everyday, it gets you 'out of yourself' and gets you involved with someone else. It's not good for us to be too inward centered. We do that anyway with having a chronic illness. So besides getting our 'bit' of sunshine we also need the sunshine of another person's face and voice. Tracie, I am so glad you were able to get out and enjoy your anniversary. I am sure it did you and your husband a world of good. I would advise...as a script of sorts...that everyone else try to get out when you can. And I don't mean doctor appointments and picking up scripts....lol. And in taking care of yourself in this way you will also take better care of the 'others' in your life. A cheerful heart is contagious! I know this because Tracie's post about her trip made ME smile and feel better. I think a mini-weekend vacation of some sort, every six weeks, would be good for me! Thanks for the idea, Tracie, and have a great week! Good to have you back. hugs S.tiodaat@... wrote: Terri, Even 10 minutes is long enough to get the assimilation going. We so often forget that we need others, life around us-- and those wonderful moments of community. Love to you, TracieStart the year off right. Easy ways to stay in shape in the new year.
