I asked Dykhuizen, one of the RNs at the Kaiser South San Francisco Bariatric program, about the surgeons who are leaving (Drs. Gorrin and Umbach). She emailed me back: " Dr Gorrin and Dr Umbach are leaving mid-March. we will drop down to six

GBSs a week until we recruit some new surgeons for the program. In the

mean time we will use Kaiser surgeons from other facilities to assist

to keep us going. " ...And according to Sasha, the docs are going to go into private practice, in Oregon. So that's why patients are being referred to Richmond, Fremont, etc.Martha
