Guest guest
Hi Pam! Congrats on the date! I am really interested in your progress here because I too want the same things done as you. Did she say you have to be so many months out at a stable weight before she will do these procedures? I am just 8 months post op and have 15 lbs till I am at goal from what Dr Baggs stated. the extra skin is driving me nuts! Thanks and again congrats on your date! Guest guest
Hey Kay. Just prior to seeing Dr. Place, I saw Dr. Park for my one year apt. which was the Thursday before. Dr. Park told me that I should go for it and that I did not have to wait. I know that it is the probably the smart thing to do but I am going to be diligent in doing my part to maintain this weight. I have been at my present weight 140 since around November so I am pretty stable and it will be 5 months by the time I have the plastic surgery. The only thing Dr. Place asked me was if I plan on losing more to go ahead and try to do it now which I plan on trying to knock off 10 more but if it does not come off that is fine. She did not say that should would not do the surgery if I was not at my goal weight or desired weight. I really liked her. She is very funny and caring and very reasonable in my opinion. I am happy being a size 8 and I don't want to go smaller. People think that I am smaller so that is a plus. I am exactly One year and 6 days post op. As time goes on, I will keep you posted on things. I hope that helps. Pam Marsh --- specialkmix2000 wrote: > Hi Pam! > Congrats on the date! Guest guest
Thanks for your response Pam! I know I have to wait at least a year out for any surgery, so it is nice to hear that she is willing to do this for you so soon after your year mark. I have heard some surgeons want to see you at goal weight from 6 months to a year before doing plastic surgery on you. I don't want to wait that long, because like you, I am not going to do anything to jeapordize the weight I have lost. This is all sounding really good! I can't wait to see your before and after pictures. I am wondering though if I have to do that belt style tuck though, I seem to have a lot of skin on my back and sides under the armpits, where the bra is, I stuff the skin into the bra now. eeew. It was nice to hear that this Dr also addressed the leg area, because I thought I would also have to get those done. Sounds like she takes care of that as well. You found a winner! Thanks for sharing her info and thanks again for addressing my questions! April will be here before you know it! Guest guest
You know not to sound vain or anything but even though I was 250 pounds people constantly say they did not realize I weighed that much. Well I knew it but I think a lot of it had to do with the fact that even though I was 250 I would still run (daily at least 1.5 miles to 2 miles) and on the days I did not run, I did aerobics. I would take Sunday off so I had a rather tight body except for my gutt from having babies. My legs were firm and I had a bottom. So when the weight came off, I was shocked that I did not have a lot of excess skin. Dr. Park told me that she was surprised that I did not either and she said that my muscles were pretty tight. The plastic surgeon said the same thing and she did tell me that she pulls up from the lower legs so you get that tightness. She said I did not need lipo and that I should be very pleased with the results. She did say that I should not be in any pain (which I was surprised). She said I would be tight but would have pain meds if I needed it. I have been lurking on plastic surgery boards and I am surprised because a lot of them are saying they had no pain, just feeling really tight. A lot of them say they were driving at the end of the week and within 24 hours post surgery they were up and about. I look forward to that and I hope that is my outcome as I do have a very high pain tolerance. I had no pain post surgery but then I had lap surgery for my RNY. I am sure that part of the not requiring waiting is due to the fact that they know you will probably go somewhere else and get it done so there is the loss of money and also, I have been at 140 since November so by the time I get it done, it will be 5 months at a steady weight if I don't lose anymore but only 2.5 months post my one year mark. Anyways, I had no plans on waiting. I a just ready to do this. My only real gripe is my breast. Girl, this is so funny. My husband watched me struggle to put my breast in my bra. He said dang, its almost like you need to roll them up (lol). I mean I would put them in there and situate them and they would just fall all sorts of ways (not out) but they certainly would not look like they should in the bra. Now keep in mind I went from a 44DD to a 34B which is a huge drop. So I really can't wait but I will. Well, I will keep you posted.
