Guest guest
Actually, I didn't have a bunch of medical bills when I filed. All I had was the mortgage & one credit card. I still had great health insurance from my employer through COBRA. I know that since then the bankruptcy laws have been tightened up to make it harder. I've tried to get my daughter to file. She's the one with the chronic pancreatitis. She's got at least $50,000 in medical bills. Even if she is able to work, which she is trying to do now, she'll never be able to pay that off. She's just 36, so if she could get out from under those debts & start fresh, she's got plenty of time to re-establish her credit. Even with the tougher bankruptcy laws, I think she would qualify. But she doesn't have the money to file, and she doesn't really want to. I know the feeling; I hated it, but I didn't feel I had a choice. I also lost the home I had been buying for 8 years, with all the money I had put into it. Ramblin' Rose Moderator A merry heart is good medicine.
