My consult was $200. I paid it and got 80% back from my insurance

company after I submitted my bill to them. This was in January 2001. I

guess his fee went up $100. So you will be paying $300 and you will

submit to your insurance and get a refund of 80%. This extra charge you

will be incurred due to Gagner's inflation doesnt even come close to

the price of a private room and private nurse. Private nurses were

around $400 for a 12 hour shift and private companions were $135 for a

12 hour shift. I did not pay extra for my private room, my insurance

covered that. I guess what I am trying to say is that the extra $100

charge for the consult, part of which will be refunded to you, wouldnt

have been enough to hire a private nurse anyways. Sorry to break this

news to you. I doubt there will be extra charges at the time of your

consult unless you have the nutritionist and psycho consult too. They

each cost $200 for me back in January. Again, I was reimbursed 80% by

my ins co.

Good Luck,

Hi

Can anybody give me the low down on this stuff....? Are we expected to lay

out all the money for the consul and the surgery and then sit and wait to get

the money back from the insurance company or do the doctors take the

insurance and we pay whatever is left....like my insurance would cover

90%...so I would be liable for 10%...what part of this whole thing do I need

to pay up front? I'm seeing Dr. Herron the middle of the month....Thanks

Cindy,

Call the surgeons office and ask the receptionist. They appear to

be changing their policy and prices. You want the most up to dat

info and they are the only ones who can provide it.
