Hi,

I have a plateau that just wont quit! I had my surgery on June 11th

and I lost 25 pounds within the first 2 weeks. I am a female and was

290 and went down to 265. I HAVE NOT LOST AN OUNCE SINCE! That's a

five week plateau!! What gives?? I eat next to nothing and the foods I

do eat aren't really high in fat and calories. The scale just hovers

at around 265. I don't exercise a great deal daily but I live an

active single girls' social life. I do lots of social things nightly

and work all day long so I am constantly on the move.

What gets me is that when I would eat this little amount of

food pre-op, I WOULD lose weight. Now as a post-op, I plateau!

Everybody says " Don't worry, you'll lose! " . I am beginning to think I

am the only one this surgery won't work for.

Can anybody help me out with this?

Christie -

It sounds like you may not be eating enough and your body is hoarding what

few calories you are giving it. I have found that the more I eat, the more

I lose. Why don't you give it a try for a couple weeks -- eat as much as

you can, concentrating on protein, but whatever you want, especially fats

and see if that plateau doesn't break.

Good luck -
