Guest guest
Now I know how those parents who have been tortured by " the bar " feel. Zoe got her 3rd pair of Markell's in May. Never a problem before, but nothing but problems with this pair. She started out with blisters on the tops of her feet. She would get one, I would do her shoes up even tighter, no more blisters for a week. Her foot would start looking good again (no more red), then it would happen again, I was still doing them up tight. Blisters would come and go and she really did not fuss much on the nights where she was getting the blister. Maybe off and on a little, but not too bad. It kept happening, getting better, then again. I took her to the orthotist last week (Wed) and she put a big thick insert in the back (there was a smaller one before). Zoe was OK that night, not great, but OK. The next night she cried all night long. I cut the insert out and she was fine until Monday then, yes, another blister. I called and we went back in Wed. Orthotist thought that Zoe's foot is a little thin from the bottom to the top of her foot (does that make sense?) thickness and that may have been causing the tongue to form a sharp curve instead of a smooth one. She put some soft thick padding on the bottom of the tongue and a little thicker insert on the back (not as big as last time, and it is softer). She was fine on Thursday night, last night she screamed all night. It took the shoes off at about 2am, gave her some milk and while she was drinking put the shoes back on. She layed (sp?) down for about 10 minutes in bed and then started again. The top of her foot this morning is very red, no blisters. I really am at a loss. Even though her foot is red and she is obviously not happy, I am partly wondering if it is red because she is trying to push it off, which I know she is and is just MAD. I wish she could tell me. She doesn't love me putting them on before bed, but does not put up much of a struggle. She plays around with no fuss before I put her to bed and will even lay down for a while before starting off. Power play?? Although the hysterical screams last night tell me different. I feel my last resort is to try the Sandals. Any experience / input would be greatly appreciated.
