Sherry, One thing you may want to consider in your decision of DS

vs Rny- Rny folks do have a higher likelyhood of late regain. At 5

years out, the average Rny pt maintains only 65% of excess weight

loss. So, regain is more likely. Also, the dumping thing usually

lessens with time. So not only could you be eating the carbs you see

as a problem, but you may regain a significant ammount of weight.

I can send you information from the University Hospital in my state

supporting these statistics if you wish.

Tonight there was a show on obesity on the Learning Channel. They

interviewed a WLS surgeon from Duke University. He to stressed the

lower weight loss maintenence with Rny, only he stated it as 50-60%

of excess weight loss long-term.

Go to the OSSG-Revision list, and see how many are revisions from

regain in Rny. There's several.

Good luck in your decision, I will support you and be here for you

no matter which you choose. Meli
