Guest guest
What about taking a Fiber Supplement? I think this would help, sometimes it helps me, but I'm Pre-op. I have similar problems because of not having a GallBladder. I have this, too.. had it immediately postop, and it turned out I had a stomach virus.. but described my " usual " BMs (still very watery), & my surgeon told me that they would stay watery as long as I did not eat a low- fat diet. I asked why other folk with shorter common channels didn't c/o this, his response was.. that I shouldn't believe everything I read on the newsgroups.. & that what I'm dealing with is " normal " for the first 4-5 months. =( I hope he is wrong. > > > > The only relief I can find from this is through the use of > > prescription strength immodium AD. I'm trying fiber-con, 6 tabs/day, but you're too soon postop. I've also been taking acidophilus to try and keep everything " positive " in the bowel flora.. but so far.. no good. If I find anything that works, I'll definitely tell you! Sigh. My butt hurts. Guest guest
I have had this only rarely and almost always associated with some food my system will not tolerate. I do not think this is the norm. But foods we cannot tolerate may be common. I have massive gut reaction to eggs and can eat small amounts of foods containing them. Some react to soy or whey or gluten, etc. Also relevant to output is input. Some foods tend to make stools looser. Anything with a laxative type effect, for example. Fruits make my already fast gut go at top speed. Fats do not cause this with me. I would take any generalized criticism of information on mail lists with a grain of salt. After all, the people who say info here is bad are usually those who aren't reading to find out. in Seattle > > > > Since surgery, 10 days ago, my bowels have been like fire > > > hydrants turned wide open.
