, Congratulations! Can I ask a couple of questions? Feel free to say, "none of your business". I have polycystic ovarian syndrome, so I've been "without child" myself. I was pregant once right before my 40th birthday (I'm now 41, and will be 42 in two months), but I miscarried. All of this was before my surgery. So, now I'm pretty much at goal, and I'll have a year under my belt in June. How far out were you before you got pregnant? And if I might ask so delicate a question...how old are you? I haven't given up the dream of motherhood...but I'm also not thrilled with the idea of going to extraordinary measures (IVF, etc...) Don't get my wrong, I totally support anoyone who does that...it's just that for me, there is a part of me that is ambivalent about children...I love them...but I am pretty accustomed to my freedom and spontaneity...and I think

there is a part of me that prevents me from being too baby crazy because of my fear that I can't get pregnant. So, it's self-protective. But, at the same time...there is a part of me that thinks if I suddenly have the magic wand hit me (pardon the pun) and I become preggers...it was "meant" to be. You know? Anyway, I'd love to hear. And once again, congratulations!! RobynnLLLORY@... wrote: , I love the way you are handling your situation! We don't have to defend ourselves.Laurie__________________________________________________

Hi Robynn, Lilka here. I got pregant at 43 and had my baby when I

was almost 44. It was fine. Good luck to you. But what happened to

the cyst? You are far enough out to have the baby survive, I guess.

Hurry up. Having a baby is the most divine experience in one's life.

Love, Lilka

Thanks. Oddly enough, although I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome...I don't have cysts. I just have the ovulation syndrome. So, I guess I may be getting normal, now...and I'm not actively trying to prevent pregnancy.... I do think that having a child would be great...even though it is a lot of work and is an expensive proposition. Thanks for your story, it gives me hope!! RobynnLilka wrote: Hi Robynn, Lilka here. Robynn...like you I have PCOS without the cysts. I had an extremely hard time getting pregnant with my son. I ended up doing clomid, repronex injections and IUI to get him. Get this though...I got pregnant 3 times prior to him (sadly lost all 3..18wks, 17wks and 8wks along) with no problems at all. Thats why I say I worked long and hard for him and he's truely a blessing! I'm hoping when the weight is gone and I am given the OK after I am healed from the surgery that we can try for one more...without all the complications!

I am a lot younger..27. But these days it means nothing, apparently, with all the technology available. I had WLS 8/04, and hernia repair 5/05. I waited for 2 months to let the incision heal, to figure out the status of my fallopian tubes ( was told that I was a high risk for etopic, so I started IVF procedures)and was on Yasmin and Met during that time. In addition, I followed a very strict extremely low carb/high protein diet aka WLS and PCOS maintenance. I got remarried 6/05, and was pregnant by Rosh Hashana naturally..( I think I was married like 3 and half months by then) Listen, never take what the docs tell you as absolute truth...miracles CAN and Do happen all the time. And educate yourself! Much blessings and baby dust!Robynn VanPatten wrote: Thanks. Oddly

I'm sorry for the miscarriages, Connie. It was really tough for me, too. To be pregnant for the first and only time in my life...only to have the disappointment. Yikes. All the Clomid etc... scares me. I'm hoping i can do it "ala natural". But, my hat is off to those of you who do the IVF route. You are really dedicated! Generally, I think once you've had a baby, it's easier to get pregnant the second time...so good luck to you!!! RobynnConnie Brenner wrote: Robynn...like you I have PCOS without the cysts. Thanks! I certianly wouldn't wish what I've been through on anyone! Thats why I am soooo thankful for the little guy I have! My losses were quite drama filled and it scares me to death to have to go through that again. My pregnancy with was drama too..I had him 5wks early.

I was scared at one time of having to go through IVF..the cost alone is unbelieve able. The route I went wasn't nearly as bad and it worked! I hope once this weight is gone and such I can bypass all the crap and get pregnant on my own again.
