Hi Sherri,

Good luck on your surgery tomorrow. After surgery I have Lortab which is liquid vicodin and it sure tastes nasty but it does control the pain which is what you want to do. As for vitamins... There are some that did liquid vitamins and others chewable's. If you do those watch out for the sugar content. I did the tablets and just cut them in half to make it easier to swallow. For vitamins I take a high potency mega vitamin daily. 1500 mg of calcium citrate dally, vitamin B-12 1000 mg twice a week, and iron daily. The calcium should not be taken with the calcium because they bind. When you get the calcium, make sure it is citrate because you don't need stomach acid to absorb it.

My understanding is that you arent supposed to do regular pills until at least 1 month out. Good luck tomorrow!

I will be having it at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View. I just got done taking the Fleet and Im at work. Thank god I have my own bathroom. Im getting nervous mainly on the lifestyle changes...Not being able to just eat what I want anymore. Food for me was everthing...going out to eat was the highlight. But my highlight for me now is to be healthy and look good. What I wanted to ask was through El Camino WLS they have me on a chewable multi vitamin and those are so nasty. Are you guys on chewables or just a regular pill? They also prescribed me a liquid form of pain medication and liquid form for Zantac...my friend had hers done through Kaiser and they gave her pills...did you guys have any problems with the pills..I was just wondering because the pill form is way cheaper. And how many times do you guys take all of your pills? multi, calicium, etc.....Thank you....I have tried to contact someone from El Camino but no response back yet.SherrieOrientation-225lbsCurrent-185lbspost-op????

Sherri Today is your big day, I just want you to know you are in my prayers and thoughts. With Kaiser they prescribe liquid pain medicine, I don't know of any one myself that got pills after WLS. If so maybe someone will say so. As far as vitamins we take chewable multivitamins 2 a day, calcium can be chewable or you can get a pill cutter from the pharmacy and any pills that are big can be cut down, 3 calcium a day, 1 iron and don't take the iron within two hours of the calcium or it doesn't absorb right, B-12 sublingual 2 a week if at least 2000mg, if not then every day. You can buy from Bariatrics Advantage, Vita Lady or just pick up your own, GNC carries some of the vitamins you need, Trader Joes carry some of the vitamins you need, Costco carries Children's chewable multivitamins that are a good multivitamin, you'll just have to make sure you have all you need, you have to take all your vitamins they are necessary you can really mess

yourself up if you don't take them.
