Hi everyone! My name is Connie and I live in Sacramento, CA. I am

currently waiting to hear approval for surgery and hope to hear from

them soon! I had been thinking about doing surgery for awhile now.

I feel that I could have a longer and much for fullfilling life if I

didn't have all this terrible weight. In Nov 2004 I gave birth to a

beautiful baby boy and besides doing this for myself, he is the

other big reason why I want to do this. I want to be able to run

after him, play sports and just be ALIVE when he graduates

highschool! The way I'm going I won't make it that long and thats

really sad. Its not fair to me or him. I worked long and hard for

him (had a lot of complications due to weight..diabetes, high bp,

even a csection) and he deserves a mom that can do things with him.

I have a wonderful husband who is very supportive! He will probably

follow after me and get bypass done too.

I am looking for people that are maybe in my area. I could use a

buddy to go through this with. I'm sure as these weeks/months go on

I will have questions for those who are ahead of me or have had the

surgery done. Looking forward to chatting!

Thanks! How are you feeling? How has the recovery been so far?

I'm curious..I've had a csection (verticle incision) and also had my gall bladder removed. I am wondering if the recovery/pain is similar? Anyone have any experience with this?

I had 2 C-sections too and I don't think the pain is at all

comparable. There was little pain for me after this surgery. I know

we all are different but for me I did feel tightness but not pain.

I did take 4 weeks off but could have gone back to work last week.

Today wasn't the best but that was my fault. I thought I could

drink milk and I found out today I can't. But other than today, my

recovery had been great. Just do what they say and eat what they

tell you to and you'll be fine.

Connie, Hi.....Welcome! This is an awesome tool. I had my surgery on 9/28/05 and have never been happier. I use to live in Grass Valley.....too bad I am not still there, I could of been your buddy. I also have a very supportive husband.....that is very important. Take care and I wish you luck. Patty RiversideConnie wrote: Hi everyone! My name is Connie and I live in Sacramento, CA. Hi Connie,

Welcome to our group. Here you are going to find a lot of people to help you through this process. It is a long process but so worthwhile. I am sorry I am not in your area but there are many that are. Feel free to ask as many questions as you feel you need to. There are a lot of us here that are old timers and many that are just like you just starting out.
