Judy, I know that some members have gotten Remicade covered by Medicare, but I think that the doctors have to code it as sarc-induced arthritis, or something like that. I'm sure that you will get some more responses.

I have been putting off asking this question, does Medicare cover this type of IV drug for Neurosarcoidosis?I'm concerned that I may not qualify for the free meds, does anyone know the financial guidelines for the free meds.Judy in PA

-Hey Judy-

Dont have a clue how it works with Medicare, with private ins. they

need to code it as sarc related arthritis then most ins companies will

use a special pharmacy to mail out the drug, this reduces their costs

dramatically, in our case they said the cost of the Embrell Im getting

went from approx. $1500. per month to $800.00 per month acording to

their contract. The only trouble we had that it took nearly two

months to get all the paperwork in place before the mailorder pharmacy

starty dispensing the drug. If anyone is in this position, I highly

recomend using Medco as the dispensing Pharmacy because we tried

several off the others out there and every one of them sucked when it

came to customer service, we used Medco last thinking because they

were the biggest they would be the worst, like it usually works, we

were wrong, in this one case it was the opposite, they were by far the

best!!!!

Sorry Judy this probably doesnt help you at all, but I thought maybe

someone might get something out of the experience, good luck hope you

get some help with your situation.
