Guest guest
I am so happy for you Colleen and a little bit envious. I would love to have my eyes done but I was told by my optometrist that because I scar so badly it wouldn't be recommendable for me. So the eyes have it for now and the boobs later. Horray for you. Guest guest
Hello Group- Recently I was faced with some choices to make, it was get a boob job or lasik eye surgery, I agonized over it for days..............I finally decided to do my eyes.............I have been wearing glasses since i as 4 and a half years old. I have only had droopy boobs for 6 months or so, and its possible for me to lose another ten pounds or so I have eight pounds to go until my goal weight. It was a hard choice but I am looking forward to my surgery tomorrow and perhaps seeing things differently and not having my glasses on all the time. I will need glasses for reading ( age thing) but to go swimming or work out and not have steamed up glasses, no glasses getting wet in the rain, not having to go pick out new eyeglass frames and not seeing what they look like on ,because i cant have my glasses on me when trying on new frames, Vision is going to be a party to me ! So wish my luck, tomorrow is my big day for this, Its a valentine from my hubby and next week he is going to do the same............ I'm excited Colleen

Guest guest
Yeah Colleen! I had Lasik about 2 years ago and it was the absolute best thing ever! I had worn glasses since I was in first grade. The morning after surgery, I woke up at like 3:00 am and actually walked out into the living room (without having to put on my glasses) and watched TV for the first time in YEARS without having eye glasses on. For probably the first 6 months after I had the surgery, I kept trying to push up my glasses even though I didn't wear them anymore. LOL! If I had to choose between the Lasik and a boob job, I'd pick the Lasik too. Since I already have the Lasik, I guess I'll take the boob job! Guest guest
Colleen, you GO girl! It'll be great to not to wear your glasses all the time. I'm sure it was a difficult decision, but in the end, I'm sure you made the right one for you right now. Maybe you can have your breasts done sometime soon... sometimes, you CAN have your "cake" and eat it too. Guest guest
Colleen - Congratulations and the best of luck to you and your hubby on the lasik. One of the few non-obesity-related signs of aging I have had is that my eyes have gotten much drier as I got older - I practically have to wash them open in the mornings. So even though I would love to get rid of my glasses, I'm afraid that if I were one of the approximately 5% of lasik patients who experience dry eyes after surgery that it would be painful to unbearable, so I've always been too chicken to do it. Of course, now that I'm going to go through treatment for cancer, dry eyes might seem like a walk in the park, so I might think about doing lasik next year if my health permits. Not to put a damper on anything, but after lasik surgery, now you will be able to see your breasts drooping in intimate circumstances when before things were blurry without your glasses. So you'll probably be inspired to do the boob job because of the lasik at some future date, so I'll wish you good luck with that, too! Guest guest
Hi Colleen I understand you decision. Congratulations. I also decided to wait for plastic surgery at this time. I have the money, but I have a chance to go to Japan and China with my son, his girlfriend and her mother who is from China and will be our guide in May of 2007. So I can't shut down my business to many times, especially since I shut down for 7 weeks in April 2006 for the WLS and am doing good. So 2006 vacation to visit my sister in Colorado just a week. Then shut down for 3 weeks for the trip to Japan and China in 2007. Then plastic surgery in 2008. So we all have to figure what works for us. I could of done the surgery 2007 and missed out on a great trip, and I decided I really need the trip with all I've been going through. I'm so happy for your eye surgery, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Take care. Guest guest
Hi Donna, Gosh what a great plan, a trip ! I love it. I think it is great to pick and choose and that is what we both decided to do ! Today driving home from my post op visit for my eyes, my husband said, next year honey if you want we will get you some new boobs, it was so funny.................... He knew the choice for me was a hard one. He keeps staring at me saying he is looking at my eyes. LOL My surgery went well and my check today was good, but its more of an adjustment that I imagined, I hope i do ok at work on Monday as long as i put in a lot of lubricant drops i see better clearer and sharper and my eyes are less itchy but they say day to day they can change where one eye is better than the other and then two days later it can be the other way, it takes about three months to end up where you end up. Being someone who could only see things very close up with out their glassea, and now its the reverse i see distance so much better and close up is hard, i did buy some over the counter reading glasses today but for the computer its a little odd, I am just hoping i am hitting the right keys as i type LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheers to your trip that sounds like so much fun. I have a trip to Mexico in April planned and i am so looking forward to that! sun sand beaches here i come ! Can't wait to ride the quads in the desert, eat fresh shrimp and maybe have a margarita or two. By the way has anyone here tried the new cherry limeaid by minute maid in the cans, its light, its ten calories for the can i think its yummy and blended with ice when its warmer out i bet will be really good ! I love it, Ok time to not do the computer and rest my eyes, at least tonight i can watch tv, the first night i could not watch tv or read, i thought i would die......so i listened to tv and music and Shonda called and we chatted , she is such a good person, so glad i met her with my surgery. thanks for letting me know your choices Donna ColleenDonna Jordon wrote: Hi Colleen I understand you decision. Guest guest
Hi Colleen Sorry I haven't replied to anyone in a week, finally I have a few minutes. I really happy your surgery went well. I know two people who had it done, and their eyes did take a few months to really adjust, then what a difference and they are both so pleased. Mexico sounds wonderful, my close girlfriend just went to Mexico in December and had so much fun. She rode the quades, also horse back riding on the beach (one of my favorites) and paraselling. I want to Parasell down at Santa Cruz, we're talking this summer. This summer for me will be a trip to Colorado to visit my sister, her son is a pilot and is getting my ticket for just taxes. So nice to have connections! Then to Santa Cruz, and each month to go up to check on my husband that's he's doing okay. We've moved lots of stuff to his new house, now he'll be back for a week on Wednesday, then back up to paint the house before unloading all the boxes and getting the house all together. He's happy and sad all at once. This brings piece to his anxiety a slower life and nature and only himself to take care of and with his pension it works for just him. There won't of been enough money without me working even if I would of moved up there and there's many things I haven't done in this life that I plan on doing now. I will stay close and time will tell for us what will be. I am so excited about my trip next year and boobs the year after. Times will be harder being single, having two boys in College and all, but in another since a relief. So I do plan on enjoying life also. I'm going to try the new cherry limeaid, I've been looking for something new. Thanks. You take care now. DonnaColleen Garner wrote: Hi Donna, Gosh what a great plan, a trip ! I love it.
I love it.
