Guest guest
Really? Interesting. Well now who knows if they'll give it to her because she had a fever last night and felt warm this morning so I gave her Tylenol. I have her being seen prior to the shot because like I said I can't tell if it looks like she is budding or not. I spoke with the endo this morning and he said he doesn't think that it will spin her into puberty because he feels that if she were to stop the cream it would go away but let the ped look and if uncomfortable I can bring her in and he will check her levels. And to boot the cream is working where it should be. I don't know what to do but I guess I'll wait until she goes to the ped and she what she has to say. Guest guest
Have any of you gotten the flu shot? I know my first sarcoidosis attack was in 1980 and basically in remission since then with flare ups of erythema nodosum when under major stress at work. I always refused the flu shot as I was afraid with my immune system. Last year I was in a weak moment and I let them give me the flu shot and I came out of remission and ended up with neurosarcoidosis. My first attack was in my left lung and lymph nodes. So I know on the FSR site some say they have heard others getting Gullian Bairre and wondering if anyone else else has gotten the flu shot and had their symptoms get worse. Guest guest
I get the flu shot every year and have had no problems. The shot is made with dead virus and should pose no problem. My Doctors ALL agree that I MUST have the flu shot each year and they told me that IF you get sick after the flu shot, it is because you were exposed to the flu before the shot. I do know that the "nasal spray" type of flu shot is made with live virus and my Doctors said I should NEVER take that one. Just my experience.........but hope this helps. Guest guest
I’ve been getting Flu shots since they started, sometimes I feel a little ill the next day and sometimes the arm is sore, but nothing major, this time nothing didn’t even make my arm sore, now the pneumonia  shot put me to bed for days and my arm swelled up and was red and hot and sore for weeks, so never again. Guest guest
GET YOUR FLU SHOT. The flu shot as well as the Pneumonia shots are from dead viruses. You can't get the flu from the shot. As Darlene said- if you get it after the shortly after the shot, you were exposed prior to getting the shot. In all the years that I worked in MD's offices, we never had anyone contract GB from the shot. The only reason you would not be eligible for the shot is if you are allergic to eggs. As far as the shot sending you into a flare-- chances are that the stress and exhaustion of normal life were already getting you sick. Take care, and get the shot! Guest guest
I got the flu shot a couple of years ago and went into such horrible lower back and glut(butt) pain. I haven't gotten one since. I drink Airborne daily during cold and flu season and keep all sick people away from me and all the other precautions. I usually say 'follow your gut'. Every time in my life that I've listened to my gut I kept myself from even more pain. good luck whatever you decide to do. hugs S.Rick Jack wrote: Hi, I got my flu shot two weeks ago and have not had any problems. Guest guest
, I also tend to "trust my gut," but like "let your conscience be your guide," sometimes both your gut & your conscience can be wrong! It's so easy to assume that when one thing follows another, the first one caused the second one. But we know that it's often a random event, or a coincidence. A few years ago my daughter had a bad case of bronchitis, took one Ampicillin that she had, and within a day was feeling better. She was convinced that taking one small dose cured her, even though I told her that the bronchitis was probably viral. Anyway, my point is that it's often a good idea to really consider all the sides of an issue, such as the possible effects of taking a drug/flu shot/etc. versus the possible results of not taking it or doing something different. There are no guarantees with any course of action, so you need to try to see all the possibilities & how they would affect you, then choose the action that is best for you. But look at the science, not just what is called an anecdotal event (something that happened to you or someone else). Ask about vaccines--like Darlene said, the flu shot is made from a dead virus, while the flu spray is from a live virus. It's a huge difference. This is why, after decades of giving children the oral polio vaccine, the authorities have gone back to recommending the shots. Because the oral vaccine is made from a live virus, there were cases of children actually getting polio from the vaccine, although it was rare. But the shot is made from killed virus, so they cannot contract polio from it. Ramblin' RoseModerator A merry heart is good medicine. Guest guest
Back in 1969 when I started nursing school, we had to get typhoid shots, once a week for 3 weeks. That was horrible! My arm would hurt so much, and just as it was getting better, another shot! I had to get it in the same arm each week because I had gotten a smallpox vaccination in the other arm. I'd had a couple of smallpox vacs before, but I guess they never took because I had no reaction. Boy, did I get a reaction with that last one! I even had to wear a plastic "cage" over it for about a month until it healed up. I had fever & chills for days. But apparently if we had a smallpox epidemic, from terrorism or whatever, I probably wouldn't be protected--too long ago. Ramblin' RoseModerator A merry heart is good medicine. Guest guest
Kat, The flu shot is not a live virus so it will not affect you. I get mine every year. It could be catastrophic to actually get the flu. It does not make me worse. Terri G. > > Have any of you gotten the flu shot?
