Guest guest
Did Dr. P recommend you keep using the FAB during your wait here? s. Sandal Q? Ok, for all of you expertise Shoe members. I have a question...) Lilee as we all know is NOT fully corrected. I have been putting her in the 's 10-15hrs a day. I know she should be in the 23hrs a day IF she were FULLY/PROPERLY corrected, BUT she isnt, and this amt of hrs seems to keep what progress she has until we see Dr. Ponseti on the 17th. Ok, here's the Q, when I take them off I notice that she has a red mark across where the middle strap goes. This goes away after about 1/2 hr, it almost looks like Ie. a sock mark when your socks are a little snug, and they leave the weave indention...well, this is a strap indention...but there are red marks that stay on both feet in the same area. on the outer and inner part of the foot where the strap goes in that front crease. Is this becausehe has A-Typical CF, or because she is not fully corrected, orthat is just the nature of the s? All the above? I can get the M A foot to go down properly, the CF doesnt quite get the heel in all the way but I think that has to do with the minimal correction. Ive strapped that puppy down as hard and possibly possible! Any suggestions???
Guest guest
Christee, Lily has red marks in that same place under the tongue/middle strap. They typically go away within an hour of her shoes being off. Unless they form a sore (and Lily's haven't), I wouldn't worry about it. I think it's just a result of the middle strap being tight- it really holds the foot down. You may want to make sure the tongue is lying flat underneath the middle strap. Occassionally I don't get it flat and the pressure from the strap will cause a crease in the tongue to leave a mark on the foot. Hope this helps. You'll be in Iowa two weeks from today - yeah!! Guest guest
Well that makes sense. The real difference in Dr. P's method, from what I've seen, is that he moves the bones in a very sequential manner, thus his results are so good. It appears so many doctors just wrench the foot around to look normal, but the trick is in moving the bones in a certain order from Point A to Point B if that makes sense, before moving to Point C, etc., so it is very likey you may get the results you need in only a couple castings. s. He said to keep them on so she wont lose what correction that she does have. He thinks he can correct it in 2 casts. I just cant imagine it only taking 2 because she is at 30degrees now, so thats another 40degrees, plus cavus correction. I'd think it would hurt her. But I am used to a Dr. that odviously did it wrong. I know if that what Dr. P says it'll take, then he is right! number23 wrote:Did Dr. P recommend you keep using the FAB during your wait here? s. Guest guest
Christee: Dr.P corrected just recently in 2 casts then placed a third cast on for at least two weeks, comes off on the 12,. , 15 wks old, went to him after loosing correction and Dr. P had told us two casts and he was right on it. It works magic with these feet. I know our Doctor at home, Arkansas, never took as much time feeling and positioning before the cast were applied. Have faith girl, it can happen. goes into the P/M on the 12th hopefully. He was in DBB/Markell shoes before when he lost correction. faith slattery wrote: Christee, the shoes will take care of most of the cavus correction.
