Steve,

Since my husband had the surgery 8 months ago he has only had a *mild* case of gout in one foot no matter how much meat he was eating. But then he started getting painful knees and I happened to mention to him that milk products such as milk and ice cream will cause crystalization in the joints of some people so after he quit eating those two things, it went away and has never returned.

Another thing.....what really works for gout in a matter of just a few hours is to take 2 tbsp of black cherry concentrate (available in health food stores) and take it every hour until you feel relief....usually only takes about 2 hours. That worked so much better than pills!
