I like that! . . . the Platinum Standard! ;-) What would come after that?

I'm still researching, but have pretty much decided on the DS.

I guess it's just more known than the DS.

Great!!! That's what I'd hope for myself, obviously. People tend to give

me the scare stories when I tell them I am considering WLS. One friend I

just told said she had heard of people dieing from the surgery. Great, just

what I want to hear. Like I'm on a plane that's taxi-ing down the runway

and the person next to me starts telling me all the crash statistics of that

particular airline. :-/

Does your 'helpful' friend have any children? I wonder if she has

ever heard of women dying in childbirth.

Further, sometimes people die in heart surgery. We could go on

and on and on. The fact of the matter is that the risk factor is

generally lower than for other surgeries.

The kind of scare tactics your 'friend' is delivering should also

warn people not to step into banks, lest they be in one when it is

held up.

This is in my opinion, unnecessary and unproductive. It is also

irresponsible.

Carry on your research; do the careful job you've been doing and

please, if you aren't finding the answers you seek, don't hesitate

to ask a member where you might find it.
