Guest guest
I also use the sticky sheets. I also have a pad of paper right next to my chair so if I think of something I need I write it down right now. I always take a list with me to the store. I also take a list of questions with me to the dr. I forget lot more than I remember. lol I also print out the medicines and dosages on a card had laminate them. This way when a dr. asks about my meds I just hand him the card. Hey they even get impressed. Just thought you would like to know. *smile* Jackie [sPAM]Re: adapting from Naa Koshie This may seem elementary to some, but in order to remember things, as soon as the idea pops into my head I write it down on a sticky note and place it where its most pertinent. Grocery list go on the door jamb of the kitchen cuz if I put it on the fridge I'll forget it when I'm leaving. Lot's of notes get stuck to the front door so that I don't forget things when I'm leaving. We use a huge family calender hung on the wall in the kitchen where we put EVERYTHING on. Son's work schedule for the week, doctor's appts, soccer practice, etc. When I'm having a headache, my daughter's dad has set-up the back porch with a comfy chair, my eye covers, box with medicine to make me feel better. There's also a fan out there because for some reason the "white noise" of the fan soothes me.I just bought a pill box with compartments for the days of the week because sometimes at the end of the day I panic because I can't remember if I took my medication that morning. Costs little, but worth millions in stress relief.Naa KoshieRose <mamadogrose (AT) hotmail (DOT) com> wrote: I was thinking about the fatigue thing & all the ways we devise to deal with it. Then this morning when I put my (plastic) glass of juice into a coffee mug (to lessen the chance of knocking it over), I thought of all the other ways we learn to adapt. I know that I have come up with lots of innovative ideas, which would probably not make me rich if I tried to market them (except maybe the ICE BRA R). Maybe we could all contribute our ideas & I'll try to organize them into a list that new, and old, members could use. Even though my adaptations are necessary & helpful, sometimes I still resent the fact that I have to do it at all. Anyone else want to join the project? Guest guest
My problem is finding the stickies; they crawl away & hide under piles of paper & other stuff. I've even tried running a cord through a small notebook & wearing it around my neck, with a pencil attached! I still managed to lose it. I'd do the old trick of writing stuff on my skin, but even I don't have enough skin for all the notes I write. My mother used to tell me that I wouldn't forget anything if it was important enough. Well, maybe that was true years ago, but it sure ain't true now! Ramblin' Rose Moderator A merry heart is good medicine. Guest guest
I have always done that too with the everything in a file in my computer. I know how helpful it is to just print it out and go to the drs and hand it to them.. As you said, the nurses especially like the meds. list!
