What heart issues do Mito kids experience?

We went for Joey's heart doctor check up today.

We knew he had a heart arrythmia already, yet today they told me his

ventracle is too large, yet still working correctly. He said we will

just have to keep a closer eye on him.

I was just wondering if this runs hand and hand with his Mito.

My heart doctor really doesn't know anything about Mito, which is

scary.

Grace has an echo yearly, just to check for weakening of the muscles around her heart. This was started even before her diagnosis of mito, due to Carnitine Deficiency. So far she has nothing but totally normal echos. She has had some issues with irregular beats, crazy pulses and high blood pressure, but her cardiologist is not concerned. (I trust her, she is very good and knowlegable of mito.)

Dear Tamara,

Samya had enlarged left ventricle through echo while dying in the iCU si I

know that is mito related. Whether she had it before the crisis and her

intubation and quick deterioration we do not know because she had never had

any cardio tests before. I was told that this probably developed quickly due

to her respiratory failure and her body was trying to compensate for her by

enlarging to increase oxygen flow. We were also told that was no big deal

because otherwise her heart was still doing it's job. Leanna gets an echo

now every 2 years and she has had 2 so far that were normal looking for

cardiomyo

pathy (I believe that is weak heart muscle, but I am not sure) . I am told

that cardiomyopathy is common with mito and how that is related to left

ventricle enlargement I have no idea, but my guess is they are not.
