Guest guest
Hello, I am wondering if anyone has ever been in this situation. My son (aged 9) has been ill for almost a whole year. His docotrs have just now begun to explore the possibility of sarcoidosis. Do children get this disease???? Briefly, he was diagnosed with arthritis early September but became increasingly unwell over the following months. He has had some very disturbing neurological symptoms -- loss of balance, loss of strength in his arms, incontinence, unable to do finger - nose test, unable to sit up without falling over. He has peculiar swellings on his face that no one has been able to identify (extremely tender). The doctors have just tested his ACE levels recently and have repeated the test several times. Each time, the ACE levles are elevated. Obviously, this is making them think about sarcoidosis. They had written off all his neuro symptoms as psychological until his brainstem auditory evoked response test came back as very abnormal (repeated twice with same results). He has a headache all day every day. If any of this rings a bell with anyone, please let me know. Deesperately trying to help my son,
