Guest guest
Hi We are the parents of François, 25 years old, we live in France (French Britanny) Recently mitochondrial disease has been discovered. François presents also a very hard autistic syndroma (in fact it's our daily problem). We wonder about that association between autism and mito, does it happen frequently? Guest guest
Hi Roland and Odile, My daughter was diagnosed with low functioning autism when she was 18 months of age. I never felt that diagnosis fit her exactly. She is 20 years old now. Almost two years ago, we received the diagnosis of Mitochondrial Myopathy Complex 1, along with a Carnitine Deficiency.
