Guest guest
Hi everyone. I made the original post regarding magnesium orotate. I want to let everyone know that there are no known side effects to taking magnesium orotate and it appears, by all studies so far, to be nontoxic. Studies have found no know drug interactions as well. It is being used in research studies at much higher amounts than we are giving Craig. (He takes 400 mg. a day). Adults are now taking 8oo mg., even up to 1600. However, as with any supplement or drug, you should discontinue use immediately if you notice any negative effects. And, of course, talking to your doctor is a good idea, as always. I have heard that Dr. Haas in San Diego has begun to try this supplement in his patients. It is helping some. The information regarding magnesium orotate was shared by the keynote speaker (Dr. Linnane) at the UMDF conference last fall. If you decide to try it, I would appreciate it if you could let me know the specific defect/symptoms the patient trying it has and the specific benefits you see, if there are any. I am going to contact Dr. Linnane with the information. He wants to raise money for further studies of magnesium orotate specifically in mitochondrial patients. This supplement shows real promise. As with others, it will not help all, but it's possible it could help a lot. Let me know, please. God bless!
