Hi ...

I had my surgery on the same day as you and I still can't believe

that you went back to work in two weeks. I had the dry mouth like

you describe for the first week or so and it went away as I started

to increase my water intake.

I seem to have a couple of good days with lot's of energy and raring

to go and then whammo...I'll have a crash day, sleep all day and I

have to force myself to walk, etc. I would imagine that this is

consistant with just having a major surgery and I know it will get

better. We just have to give it time. I have been eating 1/4 cup of

protein three times a day since the 23rd and the energy level has

improved quite a bit since then. You will definately start to notice

a change so hang in there it will get better.

Regards,

Gordy

sorry you are feeling weak but I think that

sounds normal. As for your heart beating fast, I am

not sure and I think you might call your PCP just to

be on the safe side. Congrats on the weight loss.

You will have times when you have energy and then turn

right around and be tired. Its like a cycle. I found

that the further out you get, the less tired you are,

at least that is what I experienced. I found my tired

times were during that time of the month. The other

times it is great.

As for the tongue thing, sounds like you might have

some hydration problems. Make sure you sip that water

or diet snapple or crystle light or whatever form of

liquid you are taking in. Its very important.

By all means, CALL YOUR PCP. I wish you well.

Hi ,

I am 2 weeks 1 day out and you are describing EXACTLY how I feel. My energy has been low all along, but nothing compared to the last few days. As of Friday, I had lost 26 lbs in 11 days. I am easily winded on the stairs and even a little bit walking. It wasn't like that in the beginning. I do not crave food at all, in fact, other than water, I have to force myself to consume anything. All I want is water and tons of it. I want a gallon bottle and I just want to guzzle the whole damn thing. It seems like no matter how much water I can manage to get in, it isn't enough! I have also notice when I am hot or have over exerted myself a little, my heart beats faster and harder and I tend to feel really crappy, like I just want to lay on the floor wherever I happen to be.

I know this isn't really an answer, but I wanted you to know you weren't alone in how you feel!

This is competely normal, especially since you are back at work

already. You felt good and maybe over did a little and are just

feeling it now. Listen to your body and rest. It wont last.

The same thing happened to me. I went back to work after 2 weeks.

That third week at lunch time I would go to the car and take a nap.

Only way I could get through the day.

IT is TOTALLY normal to feel this tired. Just don't push yourself

right now. Get your walks in best you can and really try hard to get

in as much water as possible. You don't want to get dehydrated. That

can also make you feel fatigued.

You are going great on your weight loss so far!

Keep up the good work!

, I am also 2 weeks out and I know exactly how you feel too. In the beginning I had no energy...I stayed in my room upstairs because I knew I had no energy to even go down the stairs. I got tired "thinking" what I needed to do. If I out do myself my heart would beat fast and I would see stars. But when I switched to a liquid multi vitamin and that gave me a drastic amount of energy. I went to back to work 8 days after my operation and as of today I feel great. I mean I couldnt run a marathon right now but I have more energy. So hang in there..take rests but keep active. And you know I felt my body was ready alittle earlier for the next stage so I started to eat salmon and mash...that also gave me more energy rather than the liquid food. , I'm sure you have had replies by now since I'm

behind. Just wanted to add my reassurance that all

that you mentioned is normal! As time goes on, you

will have more good days than bad. I'm six months

out, and 90 percent of my days, my energy is great.

Hang in there and rest assured.

Thanks Laurie,

Actually the way I was feeling was not quite normal. I was actually

becoming dehydrated. I had felt ok but a little tired before so I

just knew something wasn't quite right so I called the doctor. After

explaining everything he just said drink more water. So after

drinking more water I felt alot better. I still have my tired days

but nothing like that.

Thanks,
