Guest guest
Karla, A few thoughts: My first thought is that cheese is not a " bad " food. It is a good source of protein. I wouldn't worry about that. Regarding chewing, one of the benefits of the DS versus the RNY is that we don't have to chew our food to a pulp to eat it. About snacking, the nutritionist at Dr. Anthone's office recommends eating every few hours. So unless you are eating nonstop, I think you are probably doing the right thing. About eating snack foods...as long as you are getting in your protein first, you can't be eating all that much junk, right?? I was so sure I was eating soooo much, because I could eat so much more than I could previously, but then I watched others eat (at a restaurant) and realized my " eye " for portions had just become distorted after eating so little postop. Yes, I eat much more than I did as a new postop, but nowhere near what non-DS people eat. If you really have concerns, try keeping a food log for a few days and post it here. I have done that many times, and have gotten much needed support and suggestions. Dawna

It is protein and fat. Most of the fat will be malabsorbed, leaving only the protein which we need. I eat lots, and lots, and lots of cheese. I consider it a Free Food like celery was on the Weight Watchers diet I was on so many years ago. The wonderful thing is that cheese is much more satisfying than celery!!!! Guest guest
Thanks Dawna...a food log sounds like a great idea. I do not eat non stop so I am probably worrying about nothing. But, I'd rather be safe than sorry. Karla Re: Am I eating too much??? > Karla, > > A few thoughts: > > My first thought is that cheese is not a " bad " food. It is a good source of > protein.
