Guest guest
Hi Shirley - You need to check with your insurance company. Even if you are self-paying, they will generally pay if you are re-admitted for a complication. That's what happened to me. Had my DS on Tuesday, discharged on Sunday. Monday morning I gave a mighty cough and got myself readmitted with a 7 inch hernia. I paid for the original DS, my insurance company - Health Net of California - picked up the re-admit, even though it was directly caused by the DS surgery. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Hi ! In checking my policy (Cigna (HMO) of North Carolina), it specifically states that if you have complications arising from a non-approved procedure, you're on your own ... so self-pay for me would not be an option due to the uncertainties of the future. Make sure you check the exclusions section of your policy very very carefully. Bye, Donna P.S. Jacqui - I hope you're feeling better now !! jloran@...
