Lunches this week: Large cup of spicy chili with grated cheddar

cheese at Uno's Pizzaria; fried oysters and french fries and cole

slaw; barbecued baby back ribs, french fries and baked beans; and

Chinese dim-sun (finger foods, small quantities of each--roast pork,

roast duck, shrimp dumpling, deep-fried stuffed taro, broccoli,

stuffed mushroom caps, pork dumpling, sticky rice).

No diarrhea. No throwing up. No gas pains. No discomfort other

than over-full feeling when I ate too much dim-sum.

Go to bed with a smile on your face.

P.S. I finally figured out what had been causing me so much

discomfort in past weeks. Seems that I am lactose intolerant, even

though at first I could tolerate small amounts of milk. With me, the

effects must be cumulative. Anyway, I am back on Lactaid milk now

and take lactase enzyme before eating ice cream (usual serving is two

tablespoons full) , and no more problems. I won't even pursue

Flagyl, 'cause the gas is gone.
