I used to do that. I just posted about working for a big name motel co How I saw what happened and how I quit because of it. I am glad I am not the only one who takes this matter seriously. They do look at me funny when I register though.

Hi Rose, I saw this special on tv. (Especially when they showed that ultraviolet light (olr whatever iit was) on everything.Whenever I go to hotels, that's all I think of. I am afraid to even sit on the bedspread and yell at my husband & kids that do. I even worry about that second blanket on the bed too. The carpet makes me leary too , so I always wear my shoes, sandals or slippers. My family thinks I am "nutso" but that's all I can think about. Even the expensive hotels had all kinds of nasty stuff & there is a reason that most of the bedspreads are multi-colored--hides a lot of stains. Those of you that watch CSI know the stuff that shows up under special lights. Yuck. But I wipe the phone, doorknobs, thermostat, etc. I remember in one place the investigators cultured E. Coli from the phone. They figured the maid had cleaned the bathroom, then wiped the phone with the same rag! Now, don't get me started on the shows about restaurants.
