Guest guest
Dama... You might find this a little funny but the hardest part for me so far was not being able to sleep on my side for a week after surgery. It's all a learning experience, hence the reference to " journey " I suppose. The first two days were a little hard becuase I was still on hospital time...you know up every two hours, walk around the house, sleep on and off all day...but Hey it's a major surgery and is to be expected. I can say that everything gets better by the day. I finally started to get the feeling of " full " in my pouch so I now know when to stop eating and drinking. Like I said it's a lerarning curve and I'm sure it's different for everyone. It's not that hard considering the eventual payoff !!! Guest guest
I had a fairly easy recovery. I think the hardest thing is smelling the foods knowing you can't have them. Also my nose is alot more sensetive since the surgery so some smells make me half ill. I only had one real bad night of pain and that was the first or second night at home my husband wanted me to try to sleep with him and the lay down postion was just not a good one. I felt alot more comfortable laying on the couch so I did not try the bed until I went back to the my doctor the following week and had the drain tube taken out. Then I was alot more comfortable. I think I surprised not only myself but the doctors at how well I was doing just a week after surgery and that I wanted to go back to work. Thanks, > > what was the hardest part of the recovery and what surprised you about > the procedure? >
