Okay, I've been debating about whether to write this for awhile, but here goes.

As a nurse, I cannot figure out a connection between my feet & my peehole, but for the past few weeks (months?) sometimes when I pee, my feet start burning just before the urinary burning. You probably don't remember, but starting in 4/2006 I had a nearly continuous bladder infection for 7 months. It started with burning when I urinated, and the burning persisted, even after the infection finally cleared up. It isn't as bad, but I still have it nearly every time I go. I had a cystoscopy, saw my gyne doc, & no one knows why this burning continues. But it's not severe, so I've just lived with it. I hate to tell any of my docs, even the neuro, about this new thing, because it sounds so bizarre, even to me. My feet burn anyway, from the neuropathy, but nearly every day, usually in the evening, just before the urine starts coming, I feel a wave of burning in my feet, then here comes the pee, with another burning wave up there! I have paid close attention, and I'm not straining or doing anything different like that. And it doesn't happen every time, even though I have the burning with urination nearly every time.

Any ideas out there?

Rose,

Before I can postulate my diagnosis I need to know if your sarcoid is in

the spine or brain. If it is in the brain, my theory is kaput!

Well, Terri, who knows. I've definitely had brainstem involvement in the past, but it is believed to be in remission now. No proof of spinal sarc, just lots of degenerative stuff. So give your theory a go!

Rose,

My theory was that if you had spinal sarc it was causing the burning in

the feet and with urination at the same time due to some short

circuiting. I have a neurogenic bladder and they cannot find lesions on

the brain which would indicate the problem is in the micturation center.

It is thought the problem is spinal and most likely in the lumbar sacral

area. If my anatomy is correct, then the nerves going to the feet come

from this area so by my calculations that is your problem.

Hows that?

That's pretty interesting, Terri. You know, I've had the neuropathy in my feet for several years, with a variety of sensations, including burning. An EMG has confirmed peripheral neuropathy. But this burning is different, because it comes in a wave that just lasts a few seconds. I've been assuming that it was just a different neuropathic symptom, but it could be from a totally different source. Judy has also given me some ideas to check out. You know the old saying that 400+ brains are better than one?!?
