Hi Rose and , That sounds really good the breathing exercises. I need to know the technique because I do have problems climbing stairs and inclines. I am out of breath and have to stop and take a break. I also experiencing burning in my calves. No one has mentioned the exercises with the oxygen so I don't know if I have gotten to that point yet. Rose please let me know where I can get the information on the breathing techniques. Thank you all for responding.

Shauna, ask either your PCP or pulmonologist, if you have one, to refer you to pulmonary rehab. Your local hospital should have a program. You need to go to a program, rather than one of us just telling you a breathing technique, because they will monitor your O2 saturation, pulse, etc., to make sure your body is tolerating the exercise. There were folks in my class with portable O2 tanks, but the type & amount of exercise varied quite a bit. I would think that Medicare covers it, as well as most insurance companies.

Rose,

I do have a pulmonologist. I will ask him about that at my next

appointment. He is working to get the oxygen level back up and lung

function as normal as possible. I don't have a tank yet. Thanks for

all of the info.
