Guest guest
Sue maintains an egroup where she masquerades as the wizard of bariatric surgery. She takes bits of almost-information and weaves it together in a way that makes her appear knowledgeable. Her conclusions are always the same: weight loss surgery is mayhem on our bodies and condemns us to irreperable harm that will lead to our eventual painful demise. What she fails to say is that yes, we do have problems with malabsorbtion (DUH) but we take care of that with supplements and lots of protein. She is correct for that rare individual who can't remember to take their vitamins, calcium and eat plenty of protein. She also conveniently overlooks that we have serious comorbidities that which carry with them a higher risk of mortality than weight loss surgery. I remember one go-around with her where she equated morbidity with mortality. She says she's mensa material . . . and I'm the Pope. The only thing to take from her is that we have to remember that this surgery is serious stuff and the dangers are real. The dangers of not having surgery are even more for real. Ignore her.
