That is wonderful ! Looks like we both got some GREAT news :)

did not relapse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So we went to to ortho today and he said is not relapsing. He is just

a bit pigeon-toed. He tends to point in both feet, the left more than the

right. He said the only way they relapse is if they begin walking on the

outside of their feet, or on their tippy toes.. he isn't doing either of

those things. I am so happy

Our Doctor told us to look for loss of dorsiflexion and signs of that to be a

case of relapse not so much with the pointing in of toes. Her opinion is that

is more a cosmetic issue than a problem, Now Kelsey also has tibial torsion

where her tibia bone curves inward as well so I am not sure how much of the

intoeing issue is a clubfoot issue or a tibia issue. I am so glad to hear that

is not relapsing.

Congratulations , that is such great news about not relapsing!

I didn't know that they had to walk on the side of the foot for a

relapse, I thought if you catch it right away they walk with it in

more then usual.

What great news !!! You see Dr. Herzenberg, right? I'm only asking

because this is exactly what happened with Livie. She was intoeing but was

NOT walking on the outside of her foot. Her old ortho ordered a depth

pressure study done. She had to walk across a computer thingy in the floor

and it measured where each part of her foot was striking. Her clubfoot

imprint looked just the same as her nonclubfoot imprint so she was not

walking on the outer edge of her foot. Her ortho told us it was just

intoeing and it would only be a relapse if she walked on the outer edge of

her foot or on her tip-toes. Dr. Ponseti confirmed that she was definitely

relapsing. One cast later and she didn't " intoe " anymore, i.e. relapse

corrected. With a doctor like Dr. Herzenberg, I would feel comfortable that

is not relapsing, but please keep an eye on it. Livie started out

just occassionally turning her foot in when she walked. I noticed it and

mentioned it to a few people who all thought I was nuts because they

couldn't see it at all (even her Dad). After a couple of months though

anybody that saw her could tell that she was turning her foot in when she

walked. If you don't see Dr. Herzenberg, would you consider emailing Dr.

Ponseti?

I am so, so sorry and I'm not trying to rain on your parade! I just can't

stress enough that this is what we saw with Livie. I didn't trust my

mother's instinct when I should have and Livie has suffered because of it.

Mainly through having to wear the brace 16 hours a day for an entire year at

2.5 to 3.5 years old.

Best of luck to you and I really am happy that 's ortho doesn't think

he is relapsing!! Congratulations!

Jen... We don't see Dr. H.. we live in Florida and see Dr. Romano.. he is

Ponseti trained and on his list. He told us that his heel bones are lined up

correctly and he is just intoeing.. if we see signs of relapse we should

immediately go back to him. But he said he doesnt need a cast right now, he is

walking perfectly flat and is just curving in his foot a little bit. I may still

email a pic to Dr. Ponseti though just to confirm things. Thanks for your

concern, you are very sweet!
