Guest guest
Robynn... Thats weird mine says nov. 30th....I did send this same message about a week ago so maybe that had something to do with it....Hey this is Yahoo so who knows. Well the article I was reading was from someone named synestra (sp?) but I'll keep looking for your bro. I read lots of different outdoor mags, etc so it is possible I'll run across one of his writings. Thanks for jogging my memory re his name. I'm happy to hear that your dream is finally coming true. Your trip to France and bringing Mr. right back with you. Couldn't happen to a nicer person. He sounds like a perfect match for you. It's nice to have a soulmate and I hope everything works out for you both over the long haul. I'm a little bummed out right now becuase I haven't been able to do any exercise due to my sciatica. I hope it relieves some before my surgery on the 7th. but sciatica or not, nothing will stop me from doing whatever is asked of me while I'm in the hospital or while I'm recuperating. I am determined to have the procedure and totally at peace with myself about my decision. Thanks for your support. I have been following your progress and I've been a little worried about you but it sounds like you are on the mend and that you have a good mind set to make that goal for yourself and thats good news ! Hang in there and keep on keeping on. Regards, Gordy > Hi Robynn.... > > I was trying to remember your brothers name, the one that's the famous > outdoorsman, writer. Guest guest
Ouch, sciatica is awful, from what I hear. I've had plantar fasciitis in the past, and I know how discouraging it can be to be prevented from doing exercise regularly. I hope it calms down a bit for you...at least enough for you to get a little walking in. I find that even just doing 5 or 10 minutes a day helps me keep focused on maintaining the exercise habit. If you can't exercise, just keep your calories down iin the interim (before surgery). And after surgery, you will definitely want to walk a lot...it helps you recover much more easily. Thanks for being worried about me, Gordy...that's very nice of you. yes, I definitely have rounded the corner, and am much healtheir and more energetic now. I have quite a lot of stress in my life (going through a divorce, heavy work demands...and this BIG change with having a new roommate.) That is taking some energy from my weightloss efforts, and is bringing up the emotional eating monster, that I'm having to really address and think about. Being mindful really helps. I have an appt. with the bariatric shrink on the 5th...I'm going to talk through some of my issues with her, and see what she comes up with. I do not want to just stop, this close to goal, and never feel the joy of being at my full potential, you know? By the same token, I'm 5 and a half months out, and I am down 70 lbs since the surgery, and 96.5 lbs. altogether. My BMI is now 26.7 (it was 42.1 at my heaviest). I am "moderately overweight". I want to be in that NORMAL category, doggone it!!!! But, I have several months to get there before I really need to be fearful. I've decided to try and lose between 5 lbs. and 6 lbs. each month. That way, I'll be at goal by my birthday in April. (135). As I've said before, I'm a size 10. And I'm fairly tall, so I generally look ok. Although, lately I've been "feeling fat", so hopefully that means I'm on the cusp of losing more. That's the way it usually works for me. I can't wait to hear about your continued progress, Gordy! It's so exciting. And yes, I'm very fortunate to have found such a wonderful guy. He's a real sweetheart, that's for sure!!! Guest guest
Gordy I to have a sciatica pain, it was really bad before my surgery, put during and after it wasn't so bad because I was on the pain medicine. Then it got a lot better just to weight lose, it will hurt when I'm pushing myself all day and then do exercise on top. I believe it to be much better, but it still pains me. Hope you get better soon. Take care. Guest guest
Have a great time, Tina - this is my favorite week of the entire year to go to Disneyland! We've done it three or four times, and it's always great - no lines, all the decorations, you just fly through and it's like having the park all to yourself. Have a wonderful trip!
