Heidi,

My father-in-law had a conversion from proximal RNY to diatal RNY (he

also had the Fobi silistaic ring with the proximal RNY). He was able

to take more weight off, though not all of it.

I have heard of a few cases where suregons have been able to

succesfully convert the proximal RNY to a full BPD/DS procedure, but

this is difficult to acomplish and not always succesfull.

Unfortunately with a distal RNY you will suffer your current RNY side

effects plus the malabsorptive side effects similar to the BPD

procedure.

Still, given your diabetes I think that a revision is a good choice

in your case.
