NOOOO!!!! THIS IS ONE OF THE " MYTHS " THAT SUE WIDEMARK USES... it was

an example. Yes, there is increased chances of cancer with the old

BPD... because the pylorus & bottom section of the stomach is removed.

This does NOT happen with the DS, so there is no greater risk of

cancer after DS than after gallbladder surgery, ulcer surgery, etc.
