Guest guest
Hey guys, it's been a long time! I had my second round of reconstructive surgery (chest work this time) last Tuesday, and got my drains out today. Everything went great. I rolled into the OR around 12:30 and was home less than 24 hours later. He removed about half a kilo of skin from each side, and did a nipple graft. (I can't wait to see where he sewed them back on - LOL!) Everyone we encountered, from admitting to discharge was super. My private nurse and I got to spend the night on the pediatric ward. (They have four adult beds, for post-op overflow.) It was perfect for a big kid like me. Best care anywhere. If I ever have to be hospitalized in Walnut Creek again, I'm going to beg to be put in pediatrics! I was up and walking the halls later that night. No pain, and except for feeling like I was wearing a flak jacket (I'm padded and bound from shoulders to waist.) no discomfort. The recovery from this round is certainly much better than the first, when I had my abdominoplasty and panniculectomy together! Hope the holiday season finds you all well and happy, and a special welcome to all the newbies! Uncle Timmy -
