Guest guest
> Hon, I think we *all* live in RNY-ville. There are three surgeons here and they will only do RNY. One decided to learn a new proceedure, alas it was lap band. I have asked the surgeons about DS and there was NO WAY they would consider learning it. Even the PCP's are wary, even still with the RNY but that is changing. I have submitted tons of documentation on difference between procedures, but I haven't gotten a Dr. to actually look at it and talk to me again. I'll hang in there. Thank you for the support. Danine' ****************************** I live in NO-WAYS-ville (we say it is " behind the Redwood Curtain)--Humboldt County California. The closes Doc to me that even does RNY is 6 hours driving time. Same for DS. Since that DS-doc won't accept my insurance, I'm flying to a surgeon several hundred miles from my home (in Delano, near Bakersfield) to have the DS procedure. I'm doing lots of research and I believe I would fly to SPAIN, like some of these folks have done, just to get a DS instead of one of the other procedures. Think about it some more, please. Don't do the RNY just because the doctor's office is closer if you can possibly swing going to a DS surgeon! ~Shirley in Arcata, CA Pre-op Dr. K
