Guest guest
Hello all.My name is , I am 26 years old, living in Bakersfield, CA. I have had problems getting my orientation for a while now, but finally got in on the 5th of January, after 3 months of " tag " . Now, I knew the classes for the WLS started on the 25th, so I tried to get a jumpstart on getting my physical, etc done. Fast forward to today. I got a call from the weight loss clinic, saying that I wasn't eligible for the classes. This is the first I have ever heard of this for anyone, has anyone else had any problems with this? I am kind of confused, I really thought I would have to worry about the denial after the classes:). I haven't got the denial letter yet (the lady I talked to said that it would be coming, don't worry, lol). Other information: I am 5'5 " and 284 lbs., no comorbids (apparently GERD, PCOS, and arthritis in both my knees don't count??) Is the lack of comorbids the reason? The lady I talked to today also said that I couldn't appeal because there wasn't anything to appeal. Is she right? I really don't know where to go from here. Guest guest
, I was denied twice for not having comorbidities, and my BMI was 39.9. I did do an appeal on both denials. I did receive my letter of approval November 05. I went to the sleep clinic so I could show sleep apnea and I also saw the urologist for incontinence. I also got a copy of my medical records showing DJD in my back I did not feel that the approval was going to go through, so I started the process through the State of California. Its called an Independent Medical Review. Web Site http://www.dmhc.ca.gov/imr/ Its very easy to fill out the paper work and yes they can overturn Kaisers decision. I hope this helps! wrote: Hello all.My name is , I am 26 years old, living in Bakersfield, CA.
