Life has been very exciting!

It all started with an ice storm that was suppose to be not to bad,

unfortunately mother nature did't get the news. We had ice everywhere

lost power and did not get it back for 6 days. We have never had it

off for long so I didn't start to be concerned until 24 hours had

passed. My little 4-5 ft high freezer was stuffed with frozen thing

and I was concerned it would defrost.

My son joe talked to his boss at the airport and he let us use their

emergency generator so we hooked up the refrigerator and freezer. It

got down to 50 degrees in the house so we went to my son'sto sleep

because the air in our house felt like our noses would get frosstbite

while we were asleep. And also we were not able ato unse our bipap

and cpap machines.

Then i had problems with the pharmacy I was scheduled to have my

second cataract removed today and they didn't want to give me a

refill of the eye drops i was to use because the stupid inital

pharmacist put that I had been given a 30 day supply. So we waited in

the car while the pharmmacist called the insurance company who denied

the early refill. I called the consumer line and spoke to a

supervisor who told me i could have a vacation refill. I did not like

to be put in a position of outright lieing and told them so.

But I had to start the drops that day for my surgery which was today.

Well I have great news the surgery was a success, they put on a

cristalense which is suppose to move with your eye muscles sso that

you don'tneed to wear glasses. For once something went right in my

life and i had the second cataract removed today. it is unbelieveable

i can see so much better and I can see both far and near.

To add a little more excitement a neighbor's house caught on firelast

night and realy was a total loss. Fortunately the fire3 did not

spread to the forest around them. They live up the mountain from us.

Also no one was serriously injured

A different crew was working in the OR amd they treated me just fine.

This time if they did something that hurt I told them right out.

Found out that the eye surgeon had quite a temper, she put the paper

drape on my face and she did't like how she did it. It had a glue

like substance around thr fenestration (hole that is left open to

were they are going to operate, so she just grabbed the drape and

pulled it off , she was not gentle at all and i have a black and blue

area were she pulled it off. If I ever need any more surgery I will

have her partner do it, he's very nice. I picked her because I had

heard she was the best surgeon.

Well our electricity came back on late Wednesday and it's good to be

home.

My son's family has a Westie dog who loves us. I slept on the couch

and Bob slept on a cot that we had. Jack the dog kept watch over us

and went back and forth at night to make sure we were OK. Also wat

surprizded me is that he knew were I was hurting and would lay down

next to the area that was hurting. His wormth made it feel much

better.

When we were getting our things together he was not very happy that

we were leaving.

Well I'm getting tired so I will sign off for tonight.

Hugs,

Judy in PA
