Guest guest
when I first began my wls journey I was going to go with a surgeon in san diego and this was before I even knew the DS existed. We too, had a horrible time with their office staff who were less than competent and on power trips including resignation of several staff members due to these problems. We could never, for weeks, get anyone to return our phone calls. When we would call we were told to stop harrasing them! I can see now that it was Gods way of preventing us from getting the wrong procedure as it was a week later when I stumbled upon the DS website by accident! Prior to that discovery, their head honcho told us we could no longer be patients at that clinic! why? Becuz they insisted my husband was harrasing them becuz he has damaged vocal chords from an accident that comes across on the phone as " raspy " and they didnt want to deal with it. You cant imagine my joy when I discovered the DS website and finally figured out why we had so much trouble with them? We got back at them by not notifying their insurance person that we already got approved by another surgeon! She called one day about a week before our surgery saying " I havent heard from you in so long...whats happening? " After telling her about our new surgeon (never mentioned who the new surgeon was) she had the gall to ask that we not discuss our problems we had with them with other potential patients LOL Know what I said? Youve got to be kidding? In order for me to keep my mouth shut, you OWE me BIG TIME!!! Now, there is no excuse for a doctors office staff to be rude or uncaring. I do believe that the staff reflects alot on the surgeon himself but sometimes he might not know about it or if he has others sharing his office he might not be in the best position to make many changes. Its up to you, the patients, to make this known to them during your appts with them! If that doesnt do it, then maybe you need to find another surgeon??
