Guest guest
Hi , You're so sweet to be concerned for the bus driver. But the bus driver doesn't seem to concerned about others. I'm pretty sure it's a big no-no to be smoking on a school bus especially when there are special needs children present. I honestly wouldn't approach the driver. I would call the school and tell them what is going on. Let school officials handle it. If you don't notice a change then I'd call the school district office. In this day and age adults know the health risks of second hand smoke. The fact that the driver feels that it alright to do that in an enclosed environment and has kids with health issues burns me up. You shouldn't have to drive your child to school because of that. I hope that this gets resolved soon. Blessings,
Guest guest
Sorry but kind of have to jump in here. Yes it would be unthinkable to smoke on a school bus especially around kids for who it my cause further medical issues, but do we really know if the driver is smoking on the bus! Especially for nonsmokers I know that the residue that is left on the clothes/bodies of a smoker can cause just as many problems and gives the same smell and appearance of actually smoking in an area especially a small enclosed space (ie a bus or car). I personally would find out first what the districts policy is about smoking on or around the bus, but please give the driver some credit that they are probably not smoking directly around the kids or even inside the bus itself. If a confrontation is needed then I would start with the driver before talking to the district especially not know what is happening on the bus itself. Also an expression of concern about what it may be doing to your sons breathing, may go along way. I know this is going to be an unpopular viewpoint but I'll admit that until about 7 months ago I was a major chain smoker. I mainly stopped because it ended up disgusting me, but also for my son's sake. And you know what he has had more breathing problems since I stopped, has almost constant pneumonia, and now needs O2 a lot of the time. So yes it's not good for you, but sometimes this disease is worse. Sorry for the flip side , but felt it needed to be said, CO
