GIs oftent recommend erythromycin for delayed gastric emptying. It may also help constipation (abx often give people diarrhea). Miralax is safe for long term use. I would not want to give psyllium long term. Miralax is about the only laxitive that does not cause dependence. Some laxatives can make one need them to go potty and you can need increasing amounts. Miralax works by pulling water from the digestive tract into the stool. This makes the stool pass.
