We got the machine thru the pulmonologist. What it does is simply amazing. It helps the kids ( or adults) who have a weak or no cough mechanism to cough up all that gunk which most of us can cough up naturally. It works a little like a vacuum. It has 2 switches. inhale & exhale. And once they exhale the machine helps probell the junk out .

Simple, effective, painless . Max loves it. It is like a little game. Then with the suction stick (just like at the dentist ) it allows you you clear the stuff out of their mouth. ( sounds like a little vacuum cleaner).

The bi-pap was also precribed by our pulmo. There are some wonderful gelmasks available that do not hurt the kids. The mask = little hose is attached to a little hat they were. Looks a little like a fish net. It helps keep the hose and mask in place overnight.

All this has made a big difference for Max. She still desats and decels on occasion. However, for the most part she sleeps a lot better now.
