I know about the forever on going debate about the benefits or lack thereof of protein shakes. But I will have to say, I went out and bought a magic bullet last night (great thing - I am loving it so far) and forced myself into a protein shake for breakfast and I will have to say I FEEL INCREDIBLE!!! Now I have had some good days since surgery, but in 4 weeks, I have not had one day that I have felt THIS GOOD!!! I think I may even put some laundry away before I go to work!!! lol

That is exactly my problem most of the time. And with the magic bullet, it was so creamy and I even added just a dash of cinnamon and it was soooo good. It was such a great start to my day. I had enough energy to get up, do some laundry, clean the frog's tank, feed the fish - usually its get up - move to the couch - whine that I don't know what to eat - watch some tv and then get ready for work! I am so excited! I think i may even have time to go weigh today!

A REALLY nice blender. It's small, very easy to clean, works great.

Originally they were from infomercials. Check HSN.com which sometimes

has good deals. I've also found them at Longs, Target, Walmart, etc.

One thing to be aware of is that there are two different flavors. One is

just the base with some mugs, and one is a more complete set, with a

larger blender container (like a conventional blender) and a juicer. I

personally find I just use the mugs and base, so although I have the

blender container and juicer, I have NEVER used them. Just give me the

base and mugs!

You could also try googling " Magic bullet blender. " Be aware that there

is also a sex toy vibrator called a magic bullet, which is why I

recommend adding the word " blender " to skip the sex toy ones.

Hope that helps!

Barbara Just some information I found out for me. I talked to Dr Baggs due to my problems I've been having, anyways I ask him about why he keeps saying no protein shakes. I know Richmond says no, but so many other places say yes. He said like in my case I have IBS and Gerd (reflux disorder) and I have always fought diarrhea problems from these, he said the protein shakes have a tendency to flare that up. I haven't tried any yet, but I do know diarrhea was a bad problem for 4 weeks after surgery for me and any time I try any new on the list foods I have a problem and many I still can't eat. So I go slow in starting new foods and try it over and over until it works or I just stay away from it. This will be different for everyone, but he said by me staying on the solid protein that my proteins on the labs are good, we're waiting to see if all the rest is better yet and what the pain is. So to the people with IBS and GERD do

shakes if you want but remember try the new things at home or you might be sorry and if you start having diarrhea leave them out of your diet. I hope this helps for us who have problems that the WLS hasn't taken away. Once I'm all normal with no pain and vitamin absorption, when and if this gets better, I might try just to see how I do on a shake, the extra energy would be nice. I'll keep in touch. Glad things are good for you. Take care. Donna"Hokoana, Barbara" wrote: It's a really great little blender!
