Guest guest
Steve, Would you please tell me more...do you still have to use this Hibiclens? Did your outbreak disappear gradually and how long did it last? Thanks, Joann in Mobile

My PCP recommended Hibiclens last year. It is a red-colored cleansing solution in an aqua bottle. Physicians use it to disinfect their hands, even before surgery. Does wonders in reducing the frequency of pimpling and of getting rid more quickly of those that do appear. About $20 for a quart. You scrub the affected areas well with it. Read the label. Do not get near mucous membranes. After using your washcloth with Hibiclens , do not launder it with chlorine bleach, else it will become permanently discolored. YMMV, Steve --

Did I transfer smaller amounts from the quart bottle to a pump-bottle (you can buy smaller bottles of Hibiclens, but they are not good economically) that I keep in the shower, and I use it on places where breakouts occur most frequently, e.g., the back of my neck, just about every day. I treat other places when things get dicey there. I also use an antibacterial soap (such as Dial) for the rest of my washing in the shower. your outbreak disappear gradually and how long did it last? Each one is different, and then tend to come back sooner or later--I think that they are caused by staphylococcus bacteria that just will not die away totally. The Hibiclens is the most effective zit-fighter that I have used to date, however. YMMV, Steve --
Guest guest
Yay! I've finally found a use for that huge bottle of hibiclens I had to buy to shower with pre-op. Thanks! i hadn't even thought to try that on my little bumps all over my forehead.
