Man, I am so sorry you are having to deal with this too. How weird is this!!!! Did your ped offer any ideas of what could be going on? It just came out of nowhere for us. Is Sydnie wanting to sit on the potty all the time? Is she holding her pee for an extended period of time? Lindsey will leak urine throughout the day. She emptied her bladder three times total today and was in complete hysterics each time.

At least we'll get two different mito docs opinions as we are seeing Dr. Whiteman on Thursday.

Hang in there!

Re: question about bladder issues-Kim

Kim,

I thought I was yhe only one going through this with their kiddo! I just took Sydnie to the ped today for the SAME thing! No bladder or UT infections. He sent us home with Omnicef. This is sooo bizarre. We are due to see Cohen Monday morning and I'll ask him about it. Maybe between the two of us we can get some answers. I'll let you know what he says when I get back. (We are driving from Arkansas to Cleveland!) This has just been horrible for Sydnie.

I'm calling on the experts to help me out on this one. On Monday, Lindsey started screaming when she tried to go to the bathroom. She constantly wanted to go and sit on the potty but most of the time, did not go. So, off we go to the doc sure she has a UTI. We ended up having to catheterize her to get a urine sample at the doc's office. The doc came back and said the urine didn't look too bad but, put her on Cephalexen due to the symptoms. Here we are four days later and Lindsey is still screaming everytime pee comes out and holding it until she has no control left and ends up screaming, jumping up and down and peeing all over the place. I've given her cranberry juice and 7-up. She took one drink and said, "icky juice." :) I've given her baking soda baths, followed up with the doctor's office twice and still don't have any answers. Her bottom is not red in the least bit so I don't think it's irritation on the outside. We don't do bubble baths so that's not an issue. They did do a culture and nothing showed up.

I have no clue what to think. Have any of you experienced this with your kiddos? Or, have any ideas what could be going on?

Thanks!

Compare meds that your children are on. Is it possibly a reaction to

a med?
